Three places to find fish this Friday

Looking for dinner this Friday? If you're feeling fish, Edwardsville has three options to choose from. 

The Edwardsville American Legion Post 199 at 58 South State Rt. 157 serves dine-in or carryout fish from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Options include two pieces of cod or one catfish filet and sides. 

The Edwardsville Moose at 7371 Marine Road, Edwardsville will serve dine-in and carryout options from 4:30 to 8 p.m. 

The Knights of Columbus Fish Fry will also serve dine-in or carryout from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The menu consist of cod, catfish, shrimp and a variety of sides. There is also a children's menu available for the kids.

The Land of Goshen Community Market

Alton Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market

Tri Township Library Book Sale

9 a.m. to noon at the Tri Township Library, 209 South Main, Troy. Book donations are accepted during the book sale and on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The book sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Masks are required at the Book Sale.

11th Annual Busey Bank Rotary Criterium

3 - 11 p.m. in Downtown Edwardsville. The Busey Bank Edwardsville Rotary Criterium is a series of high-speed professional and amateur bicycle races. The Criterium also includes a running event, free kid’s races, a kid’s zone with an art tent, an entertainment zone complete with live music, food and beverages, and an open container perimeter.

Shakespeare in the Park: "A Midsummer Night's Dream"

6:30 p.m. at City Park, 101 South Buchanan Street, Edwardsville. Bring a picnic and a blanket while you meet your neighbors and friends. Free to attend. 

11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Edwardsville Moose Lodge at 7371 Marine Road, Rt. 143. Dinners are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Moments in Lincoln’s Life

6:30 p.m. at the Glen Carbon Library. The public is invited to a free, one-hour discussion on lesser-known aspects of Abraham Lincoln’s life. Acclaimed researcher Tom Emery of Carlinville will discuss his book “Moments in Lincoln’s Life.” Emery has lectured on his research around the Midwest and is known for his informal presentations, which encourage audience participation. He has created 38 book and booklet titles, some of which will be available for sale after the discussion.

7 - 8:30 p.m. via Zoom. The Southern Illinois Parents of Addicted Loved Ones group meets each week to provide hope through education and support. For parents and loved ones over the age of 18 who have someone in their life who is struggling with or recovering from substance use. PAL respects anonymity and is free of charge. Teen Hangout at the Library

4 - 6 p.m. at the Glen Carbon Library. Students in grades six through 12 can join every Wednesday for a relaxing couple of hours of free time with friends. Enjoy activities, board games and chill vibes while you hang out. The library requests at least 48-hours’ notice if you need accommodations.
