Pending approval, this new line of emojis will be available on all mobile devices by early 2023, including the single pink heart, finally.
Prepare to up your emoji game as global digital icon encyclopedia, Emojipedia, has just announced a suite of new emojis are up for approval this September.
If we’ve learnt anything of recent in the world of visual communications, it’s that an emoji can mean a thousand things. From quick visual explanatory short cuts to the subtle, and not so subtle art of emoji sexting, there’s hardly ever a moment when an emoji doesn’t come in hand.
That being said, we can never have enough emojis. And this new line of icons is proving just that, particularly with the long-awaited launch of the single pink heart we’ve been anxiously awaiting for the last decade.

Ahead of World Emoji Day, Emojipedia has proposed a deck of sample designs to be added to the universal emoji keyboard later this year in their most recent Emoji 15.0 draft collection. And while some may not make the final cut, the majority of the proposed symbols have already been confirmed in previous pitches.
Among the grey areas of the emoji keyboard is the absence of a single pink heart. Emojipedia has made an effort to include almost every other colour of the rainbow to the heart collection, alongside hearts in different shapes and designs, but never a single regular pink heart – and it’s one fans have been persistently demanding it for years now.

But finally, the pink heart is set to make its highly-anticipated debut, alongside a new collection of gestures and objects. The new deck sees a single hand pushing symbol proposed, in both left and right directions, a shaking face emoji, as well as a group of new animals and objects.
Emoji users can also expect to see a jellyfish, a goose, a donkey, ginger root, a hair pick and even a Khanda (the symbol of the Sikh faith). It’ll be the first time a new collection has not including an updated people emoji.
Here’s the full suite of symbols from the Emoji 15.0 collection, though keep in mind this is the first draft and some designs are likely to change before they make it to our digital keyboards later this year.
