As Winnebago's smallest RV yet, the Hike 100 offers plenty of features in an extremely compact yet competent build. Here's how much it costs.
Winnebago Industries is an American brand that manufactures RVs both in the form of motorhomes and towables. Founded in 1958, Winnebago’s long and fruitful history is the reason why they now have an enormously varied lineup of models to suit specific needs and budgets.
Size is usually a big deal when it comes to RVs, but not in the way you might think. Sure, a bigger RV entails more living space, but it also means it’s harder to maneuver, and you’ll need a powerful truck or SUV to pull it around comfortably if it's a towable RV. That's why, sometimes, smaller RVs can be a good alternative for people with weaker vehicles that don’t need too much living space.
For the 2022 lineup, Winnebago added the Hike 100 as the standard and larger Hike’s younger brother, and it’s the smallest they’ve ever made. Its tiny footprint and reduced weight mean it can be towed by pretty much any mid-size truck, SUV or even certain crossovers and sedans, and surprisingly, it's still an extremely competent RV in its own right. Here’s how much it costs.

The Hike 100 measures just 15 feet from end to end, which is less than the length of many full-sized pickup trucks, and 7.9 feet from side to side, meaning you won’t have visibility issues with the side mirrors of your car when towing it around. Furthermore, the Winnebago Hike 100 weighs 2,700 pounds, with an additional loading weight of 1,500 pounds. Interior headspace comes in at 77 feet, so people of any size will be able to stand up comfortably inside the Hike 100.
The Hike 100 may be small, but it still comes with a number of exterior accessories typical of Winnebago. First is the so-called “Exoskeleton” of the Hike 100, which refers to several mounting points outside the RV that are made to hold gear; it's compatible with Thule add-ons, which means owners can easily purchase a plethora of accessories to suit their specific needs.
Additionally, Winnebago’s Hike 100 also provides awnings on all three accessible sides of the small RV, and one side features a power-operated awning. The awnings that aren’t motorized can be re-arranged to form an exterior changing room or privacy curtain. Finally, there’s a 190-watt solar panel on the roof that’s perfectly positioned to optimize roof storage space without getting in the way of those precious sunrays.

As we already mentioned, the Hike 100 is Winnebago’s smallest RV with a length of just 15 feet, meaning you can’t realistically expect to find a ton of living amenities within. To be frank, the Hike 100 isn’t an RV you should be looking at if you’re in search of a true mobile home in which you can comfortably spend several days; it’s better suited for weekend getaways and shorter trips, as it only has room for the basic features of an RV.
The Hike 100 can be configured in several ways, such as a layout with a fixed queen-sized bed and additional loft bed, one with a drop-down bed and a dining area, and others that feature Murphy beds and other drop-down combinations. All configurations come standard with a small kitchen area equipped with a microwave and fridge, a sink, and a toilet with a shower. In terms of water storage, the Hike 100 comes with a 31-gallon tank and an additional six-gallon water heater, which should be enough for a pair of showers. Regarding water waste, the small Winnebago comes with a 25-gallon gray water tank and a black water tank that holds close to 6 gallons.

Upon its announcement and before the original release of the Hike 100, it was speculated that its price would be slightly lower than that of its older brother, the Hike. The reality, however, is much different, and the Hike 100 is actually more expensive than its larger counterpart. At a starting price of $44,504 as stated on Winnebago’s website, the Hike 100 is considerably more expensive than the Hike, which comes in at a starting price of $38,485.
This hefty price is due to the fact that the Hike 100 is one of Winnebago’s newest models, and as such, it comes loaded with tons of features that aren’t available on older models like the original Hike.
In retrospect, the Hike 100 is a revolutionary RV that finally opens up the motorhome world to a larger public due to its small size and easy portability. Not only that, but Winnebago also managed to add everything you could ever need from such a tiny RV and more, without compromising the limited living space within.
